In the next few days I will begin setting up Donations. This includes how they will be collected, how they will be kept track of, and how to display Donations Information effectively and efficiently to the Precision Role Play Community. I'm not worried about individual confidentiality and you shouldn't be either, this is why we are using Paypal. It's quick, easy, and keeps your personal information private.
I'm completely new to the Paypal Donations process and I have just set up a Business account on Paypal for Precision RP.
Below is a simple FAQ I created based off questions that anyone should ask themselves, and information you need to know before donating. If you think there could be more added to this FAQ I'm more than willing to add to it, just Private Message me, Sern, on the forums and I will be glad to respond and see if your question would be useful within this FAQ.
Why are we using Paypal and what will this Business Account do?
As stated above, Paypal is the quickest, easiest way to accept donations and the best way to keep your personal information private. This Business account will help us better manage donations transactions and keep track of them. We will be able to see more detailed information on each transaction and all transactions in general. With this easy to access information, statistics, etc, we will be able to display this information to the Precision RP Community.
Why are we Displaying Donations Information?
First of all, don't worry about your personal information, it will not be shared in the Donations information. Precision RP Management want to make sure you see what this Community does with its Donations, no Exceptions. I'm hoping to have it set up so that you can see the current business account balance, recently received donations, donations received per month, and what we are spending the donation money on.
Currently we will be spending any donations received on the Server and Ventrilo, both on monthly payments. The website cost was 35 dollars USD for 6 months, a great deal and a good host. I would like to thank Vegas for his help here.
Many other SA:MP Communities and other Gaming Communities in general do not display their donations information and I have always felt this is wrong. As the donators you deserve to know what we are doing with your money.
What happens if I decide to Donate more than once within the monthly Donations period?
Donations are calculated on a Month to Month basis. It does not matter how many times a month you donate to us, you will remain a donator for that month. Each time you donate, that money will be added to your original donation amount. Although it would be easier on us and yourself if you only donated once a month. See Example below....
If you donated originally on May 1st and 10 days later you decided to Donate again you would remain within the May Donation Period but the amount you donated 10 days later would be added to your Monthly Donations for the Month of May.
My Donation Status was taken away. Why?
The most prominent reason that your Donator Status was revoked would be that you violated either our Forum or Server rules. Violation of our Forum or Server rules may result in immediate revokation of your Donation Status, depending on severity. Donators do NOT get special treatment. Being a donator and donating to the community is telling everyone that you care about the future of this community and are contributing.
